Olympics）是特殊奥林匹克运动的头号赛事。世界特殊奥运会是国际特奥会为全世界智障人士设立的运动会，每两年举办一次，夏季和冬季交替进行。

2007年世界特殊奥林匹克运动会将在中国上海举办。这是世界特奥运动会第一次在发展中国家和亚洲举行，其规模将是历届之最。这次举世瞩目的体育赛事，是一场颂扬人道主义的盛会，将体现中国政府和中国人民对智障人士的关爱，赢得国际社会对中国社会文明进步进一步肯定。 |

这届运动会的举办，将在中国进一步弘扬特殊奥林匹克“平等、接受、包容”的精神，进一步形成全社会关爱智障人士的良好氛围，鼓励和帮助智障人发扬“你行我也行”的自尊、自强、自立精神，勇敢、欢乐地走出家庭、融入社会，同铸共享人类社会繁荣、发展的成果，奔向“世界和平、人类和谐、全球和睦”的理想境界。
元路科技全体员工齐心协力、全力以赴，积极配合弱电总包方，运用最新的技术、最知名的品牌、最好的服务一举中标上海特奥竞赛训练中心会议系统的项目，此项目从方案设计、设备供应、组织施工及调试开通均由元路科技配合弱电总包公司完成。该工程于2007年元月开始动工，同年8月完工，整个工程历时8个月。峻工后的上海特奥竞赛训练中心位于上海市松江区，其中包括可容纳400人的多功能报告厅，大、中、小会议室。
近日，中共中央政治局委员、国务院副总理、2007年上海世界特奥会组委会名誉主席回良玉在参加2007年上海世界特奥会组委会全体会议期间，出席了2007世界特奥运动会中国体育代表团成立仪式并为上海特奥竞赛训练中心成立揭牌。
在中共上海市委书记、组委会名誉副主席习近平，市长、组委会主席韩正，国家体育总局局长、组委会副主席刘鹏，国务院副秘书长、组委会副主席张勇的陪同下出席了特奥中国体育代表团成立暨上海特奥竞赛训练中心揭牌仪式。中国残联副主席、理事长、组委会副主席汤小泉，副市长、组委会执行副主席周太彤分别主持了特奥中国体育代表团成立仪式和上海特奥竞赛训练中心揭牌仪式。区委书记盛亚飞、区长孙建平、区政协副主席、区残联理事长杨云珠也参加了活动。
回良玉为特奥中国体育代表团授旗。回良玉等领导还先后来到特奥竞赛训练中心的室内训练厅和室外操场观摩了特奥运动员体操、乒乓球、足球、高尔夫球等比赛项目的训练。在视察中回良玉强调，办好上海特奥会是中央高度重视、国内外广泛关注的一件大事。

The holding of the games will carry forward Olympic Spirit of equality,
acceptance, inclusion further, form good atmosphere of all society’s
care for the retarded, encourage and help the retarded to carry forward
self-respect, Self – confidence, self-support spirit that you can
manage, I also can manage, go out of the home bravely and happily, enter
into the society, create and share result of flourish and development,
run towards ideal condition of world peace, human harmony, globe
harmony.
